TWO UNIQUE WAYS TO BECOME FINANCIALLY INDEPENDENT AS AN INDIVIDUAL

Finance management is a lesson mostly ignored by people, everyone feels they know what is involved but it's a topic mostly missed as it is very practical than persived. In economics, Finance is the management of money, that is how you take control of your money, how you create it, how you save, how you budget and more.

 Managing money starts from a very young age, the point a child is able to know a certain amount can buy a sweet to where they get to know food has to be bought need to be taught how to manage cash so they grow with the knowledge. I don't mean giving kids money, The foundation of your knowledge about it will help you understand clearly after you grow old.

Money is a necessity and one of the problems at various levels in society, countries are in debts even even individuals. The circle starts with you, if you have proper knowledge and a good foundation you will not have problems. That's why I have put up the following points to help you get on top of your finances. I grew up with my parents, but life was not all Rosy because they were both unemployed and depended on farming for survival. When the seasons we're favourable we used to survive with the food until the next season, but when the rains we're not favourable we had to do small jobs for commercial farmers.

Growing up from this foundation taught me how to work very hard not to starve, everything we worked so very hard for was just for food, we would stay for months without using soap or even putting oil in our food. We were comfortable with that kind of a life until we heard life was easier in the city. We moved to the city and we all got ourselves jobs. Life changed Abit from the village because we had to buy everything, goodness we could at least afford a simple lifestyle. Things were getting better that I joined evening classes and by the grace of God passed and completed a course in nursing. It was a big achievement for me a village girl to graduate, my parents were really proud, my family lifestyle improved a lot, we were able to eat and drink well.

I started helping my sister so she can also have an education. She completed her grade 12 well and got enrolled in a university then something unfortunate happened, my father got involved in an accident as he was building he fell from a high building. He was admitted in the hospital but the costs for his medicine were very high that my salary couldn't surfice. My mother used to sell tomatoes and the income from there was too little, my sister was full time in school and so she couldn't help, she actually needed my help.

My father's illness left him paralysed, that was a huge responsibility on me, my mother's health was also going down due to age and stress, my sister needed more and more cash for school. Oready I had huge loans I couldn't pay but continued to get more so I can squre others and help my sister, all this left me in bad debt that I didn't know how to get out of. By the time my sister completed her school my finances we're really a mess.

There are so many reasons people get into financial difficulties. Some it's the situations they find themselves in others careless spending, spending beyond means and more. Now it's never too late to get back on top of it. You can attain that freedom if you want to. Looking at the economics of most countries it's very hard to raise money, even just a penny is a husle but nothing is impossible with a willing mind. The following points will help you get on top of your finances.

(1) YOU NEED TO HAVE A SOURCE OF INCOME

A source is like a foundation of it all, you can't have money if there is no where to find it. There has to be a money generating something for you to have cash. Now that's the thing you need to understand clearly, money doesn't appear or fall from trees it comes from somewhere and that somewhere is what we call a source. Now it's for you to check yourself if you have a source or not, if not make sure you find one before we can go further, because without it there is definitely no freedom, now this can be in different forms, it can be a job, a business, talent, creativity, farming and many more.

• JOB

A job can be defined in a lot of ways depending on how you view it but the common one is a form of labour where a salary is given at the end of the day. Now a job can be anytype as long as it's able to pay bills and keep your family, look at your needs and choose a job you can do with all your heart, even as you are choosing don't let good opportunities pass you because you feel too important to do certain jobs. The truth is you can't be free without a job or rather a form of income.

• BUSINESS

I think this one is really difficult, am saying this looking at the state of affairs today, almost everyone is venturing into business, now it's different because some people are natural at it they flow but the competition is very high that's why you need to raise your creativity so you are not left behind. You need to move with the world, look at what is trending and make sure you put it on the market.

• TALENT

A talent is a God given ability to do something better than others extraordinarily. A number of people get to feed there families from it, but it's also hard because almost everyone is talented so you need to work extra hard to raise a skill no one has to differentiate from other talents.

• FARMING

Another way to raise cash can be through farming. As sure you have seen great men and women becoming rich and doing big things just on farming. Now it's not easy as eating it needs hard work and wisdom, farming is not done anyhow or anytime but there is a season to plant and do other processes that's why it needs to much accuracy so you have a great harvest.

• CREATIVITY

Looking at how hard things have become, jobs are hard to find, even starting a business is hard without a capital so most people are using there creativity to raise cash and you can do that, do something crazy in a good way and let it raise cash for you

YOU NEED TO MAKE A PLAN

What makes the richest people even more rich is there ability to plan for the future. Writers say live today like there is no tomorrow but in financial management living that way will keep you a hungry person tomorrow. You need to live each day calculated and plan for the future. Now when you look into the Bible it says do not worry about tomorrow what you will eat, drink or clothe, yes you must not worry that doesn't mean you shouldn't plan. Plan your finances well. Look at how much money you have and make sure you spend it within your means not more than. The following tips can help you reach your planned targets.

MAKE A BUDGET

A budget is a piece of paper written how you spend money, what you want to buy and the price. It is very important to be writing a budget when going to shop and stick to what you have written, don't just write. Some time back I had such a problem I would always write a budget but when I find something cheap along the way I end up buying; and end up spending more than planned. Now that's dangerous. Always make a plan before going to shop then you can write it on a piece of paper. Now things have changed, there is even what they call a budget app, those with smart phones are able to use them, you just download an application where you can make a budget, the app has been made in such a way that it calculates for you even the total. So what ever you are comfortable with you put it down and follow by all means.

2.MAKE REASONABLE TARGETS

Most people get too excited when they get to learn about something and overdo it, do not overdo anything. Write a plan you be able to follow. Don't lie to yourself that you will stop buying cooking oil and again change after eating a meal then you are not doing anything. Make targets easy to follow though it's not easy, reasonable enough to copy with.

On your plan don't forget to solve at least something each time you have cash, leave some for future use, like if you have kids start serving cash for them. If you want to get an education don't wait for anything start serving even from little, as time goes you will realize that it will start growing to a big something.

3. BE HUMBLE

Humility has built big Giants from nothing. Being pompas destroys character and can ruin your association with those who can lift you. Always remember this, you can't be big on your own, you need people to push you to your next level. So respect each and every one, rich or poor. If you are working for someone work when you are told to respectifully. It's humility that can raise your salary. Now look at this don't drop your dignity or principals in the name of humanity. Be humble with morals.
